Floor pans rusting out in Jeep.?

My back floor pans are rusting out I am not really wanting to buy new pans and weld them in, as this is a junk car anyways. Has anyone had successful large scale (1/4 to 1/2 size of) floor pan fixes with fiberglass? Just needs to last a year or two really.
 
A quicker way would be to just pop-rivet plane galvanized in place. Use some sealant or panel adhesive. Not only is it quicker, it is less messy. Maybe even cheaper.
If the a state inspection is required, wire brush down the outside, fiber glass over it and paint it. Who knows it might pass.
