And in response to the bit about x-rays not being used for organs... the last time I was in the ER for this same problem, they did take an x-ray. It will show a blockage, however, the image isn't as clear as an MRI. But x-rays are sometimes used.
I really hope you're feeling better. It's a miserable thing to go through, but at least now you know you're squeaky clean inside.
