Fla. beating of teen for youtube?

I am horrified by the beating of a 16 yr. old girl, beaten by 6 other girls in Fla. And the reason it was done is supposedly to put the video on "you tube."
What is this world coming to?
Seriously beating a 16 yr. old to be put on a video on the internet?
Any ideas, opinions, etc. appreciated.
 
You got me. Why people do stuff like that is beyond my comprehension. I think the internet has made people meaner.
