I'm looking at an '04 Jeep Wrangler in perfect condition--except the A/C doesn't work. First of all, if you're just going to try to talk me out of a Jeep, don't waste your breath. I would just like to know how much it would cost me to get the A/C running perfectly; I live in
Arizona and this is SUPER IMPORTANT.
Thanks!

First thing you need to know is if the a/c compressor is bad or is it just low on freon, because if it's low on freon it want work, Start the engine and turn the a/c unit on ,then raise the hood to see if the a/c compressor is turning ,if not then unplug the low pressure switch and put a jumper wire across the connector to see if the compressor comes on, if it does then add a few cans of freon ,once you have done this wait for a while to see if it holden pressure. If the a/c compressure dosen't come on when you put the jumper wire acrooss the connector then you will need to replace the a/c compressure. Which is about $300. bucks if you install it yourself. Be the way the a/c low pressure switch is on the passengers side all the way back to the fire wall screwed into the aluminum bottle(DRYER) . If it turns out to be just the a/c compressure and you have to have it install and charged up your looking at around $ 600.bucks.
