fixing ipod nano 4g (water)?

so my iPod was submerged in my washer for about 1 minute. i turned it on which i now know i wasn't spossed to do now. so i let it sit in a bag of rice for a week and tried it and now it only works if it's plugged in and the backlight doesn't work. is there a way to fix it? can i replace the battery or something? thx
