Question about fixing control arm on Toyota Camry? Nut won't go back onto bolt?
The rear left control arm on my toyota camry broke. I got the old one off and got a new control arm, the control arm went on but the bolts won't fit back on.
My gf's brother is helping me with this so he suggested we get a dye to regroove the bolt so a new nut would fit on, we can't find the right size anywhere and he says they did it on purpose so your forced to take the car into a dealer.
What are my options for how to fix this? I'll put a pic below, I know it's not detailed enough to see the bolt or nut but at least you can see the part and area I'm talking about.
Also, not sure why the nut won't go back on. Not sure whether we may have bent it getting off the control arm or whether it's just rusted or whether we ruined the threads on the bolt hammering off the control arm. I figured maybe someone else has run into this problem and has a solution?
