Fixing a bent bicycle rim...?

Hi, I just got my new Mavic Open Pro's on Ultegra hubs and just yesterday a car hit me and ran over my front wheel....

Anyway, the rim is severely bent for about 7 or so spoke lengths and if offset about 1/2 inch from the actual wheel...to sum it up it cannot be fixed by "truing" it via adjusting the spokes.

The only options I see are take the wheel apart to just the rim, and either try straightening the rim using 2x4's and a level base or just buying a new rim and replacing it. Do you see any other option?

Thanks...

Buy a new rim! once damaged like this there are NO other options. Your time will be better spent on the road with a new wheel. Sorry that happened to you. That old wheel will never be the same no matter how may 2x4's you use!
