Ok I am trying out biking. So I bought the $60 (next) mountain bike special at the local discount store. Now A plastic Frisbee looking disk that rest against the spokes has chipped. Would it be cheaper to get rid of the bike or fix it is a mountain bike with 18 gears? I don't want to spend a lot of money on a cheap bike but I hate to get rid of it on the other hand??? If I do buy a new bike what is a good starter bike for $200 or less. I still am undecided if I want to get into this or not, P.S. I Iike to sit up straight on the bike not be bent over like a racer but I only ride it on the roads.
