Fit a double in stereo in single din?

Okay, I have double din stock right now and am wanting to install a double din radio in it now. BUT! pretty soon I am buying a new bmw which has only a single din, I know there are ways to make a double din into a single din, but is it possible to somehow mount or put a double din in my soon to be new single din head unit? THanks
