i am 15 years old and am pretty big,my step dad was drunk and started talking bad to my mom saying stuff like "i am moving out you *****".so i told him to leave and he grabbed me by my throat and started calling me names and pushed me to the ground and started choking me.so i started punching him and broke 1 of his ribs and gave him 2 black eyes.he cut my head open and gave me a black eye.after we got home my mom started going out with him but he wouldent come in the house.after a few weeks she said"hes moving back in",do you think that was right?i think he should have been gone and never seen him again.what do you think?
this happened 1nce before when i was 9
and she said if it ever happened again he was gone
there both in there 40's
iam very upset
my mom is an extreamly nice person and would never hurt me.
hes never abused her and its only happened twice
thank you everybody, your making me feel better

Of course, you are upset, and you have every right to feel that way.

Right now, just try to calm down. Ask your mother if you and she could attend counseling together to sort this out because you have lots of hard feelings. I don't blame you, I would too.

If she does not want to participate, and I hope she will, then you ask her to set you up with counseling. Counseling helps you clarify issues and learn new coping skills. A counselor may help her see things in a different light.

If you don't get counseling, you are going to remain angry, and that will take a lot of your energy you could be using to get through school and get out of that house.

Keep your head about you. Think before you act. Take care of yourself. I'm sorry this has happened, and I agree that your mother has made a sad mistake. Evidently she is a good person but doesn't want to let this man go. She drew a boundary when you were nine, and has not kept her word to be done with him when it happened again.

Remember that you are a child of God, and He has given us the where-with all to help ourselves.

God bless you. Take care.
