Fishtails on a Road King

I recently put the Samson 33" straight pipe fishtails on mine. These come either baffled or unbaffled. Mine have the 10" baffles. Is it loud? Yep. Did I loose a little low end? Probably but not enough to notice and besides with a big bore and Andrews 26 cam, I had some to spare. Do I wish they were a little deeper sounding? Yes, a bit deeper would be nice. Does the bike look great with them? You bet your sweet bibby.
 
The Supertrapp fishtails are the way to go if you do not want to lose power.

Supertrapp was the original SE supplier until they lost the contract for whatever myriad of reasons.

Refer to the Supertrapp website. Great looking fishtails without a loss of power.
 
I have the samson 33" fishtails on my RKCustom. I absolutely LOVE the way they look and sound. I ran them with baffles in for a couple years and the bike ran great. Its no dragster but its fast enough for me. This year one of my baffles broke so I took them both out till I get it fixed. Its substantially louder and I noticed performance took a hit a little in the bottom but its no biggie. I still love the pipes, Ido however plan on re installing my baffles but this time im going to wrap them in steel wool and fiberglass before I put them back in. I just want to try it out. I dont think you can go wrong with the samson. The other fishtails that neck down just look silly to me. Good luck! BTW I bought mine used on ebay, WAYYYYYY cheaper!

I agree, I need to hear some before I decide.
And I've seen lots of them on e-Bay lately as well.
There's a seller there, Sorgys, that sells some but they're not a name brand.
I'm a little leery of overseas cheap stuff so I wonder if anybody's bought them & how they worked out.
I don't want them to turn blue.
 
I have V&H on my '02 Classic. The sound was obnoxious loud until I got my Power Commander tuned. It might be my imagination but,now I don't notice them at all.
 
Thanks man, doing the S&S gear drive conversion on Wed with 510 cams, should have a nice sharp exhaust note after that.

Then in for chrome front end and new bars the following Wed.
