Shrimp, Mullet. But always use fresh bait (not the stuff that you but in the containers thats frozen) You will catch fish on the frozen shrimp but the fresh shrimp is always better.

You can try to throw spoons to try to catch mackerel. but idk if mackerel go down that far...... But if mackerel are down there you will see them jumping in the surf/ a little bit before the waves break, you will see a moving "black spot" and that is the bait fish they are chasing, just cast the spoon in there and youll probably catch one.
As for fish you can catch, idk i havent fished in Florida but you will probably catch smaller shark about 8-20 inches, Maybe whiting (i have heard they are good to eat), Spots, Maybe mackerel..... Ive only fished in north and south Carolina.
