Fish tank overstocked?

I went out today and bought a single Albino Corydora for my new tank, after being told they are a good beginner's fish. When I went home and searched the internet I found they are happiest in groups of three at the minimum. The reason I bought the tank (a 6.5 gal one) was to have a Betta (Siamese Fighting Fish) Fish in it. However now I've found out that Corydoras live in large shoals I'm worried if I go out tomorrow and buy two more Corydoras and a Betta Fish, the tank will be overstocked. What do you fish experts think?

Just to make sure, I am definitely going out tomorrow to get two more Corydoras anyway- I don't want them to be unhappy and if that means getting a load more and just having them, then I will!
Just wanted to add that it's not a regular tank, it's a 6.5 gal bowl with a filter, heater and light built in.
