I have one male betta in a 10 litre (2 gallon) tank. Lately i had the other small fish in there die, I think it was from overfeeding but all is good now. My worry now is that my male betta is rubbing against the the filter, I have checked for white spots etc for ich but I see none and also it looks as if his rear tail is damaged. Im also worried it may be because the tank is unheated.

your fish has some sort of desease and there is some treatment at local pet stores and really you cant do anything about it. It is a fish.

Don't forget that they're cold blooded. Try getting some fin rot medicine for him because he definently got that. You can get those temp strips that stick on the tank because the ideal temp is about 70 degrees. It probably is becuse he find relief for his tail by the filter. Go to bettatalk.com. It tells you everything.
Also go to petsmart for the meds or order a kit for medical treatment at the website I gave you. Add bits of warm water to have an increased impact on the temperature. But, sometimes they just stay there because of the warmth thaat is rising and the vibrations. Hope these tips help. Good luck with your finned friend.
