Fish Question - how do I keep him alive.?

So i am thinking of getting a fish for my dorm
Only problem is my college is 8hrs away from my house
Think it will Survive the drive??
Also On winter break i Fly home
Thus how would i take the Fish back with me?
is it possible ?
 
not sure .... depending on the fish you want to buy.
The fish will feel be in shock... the fish needs at least 15 minutes in order for the fish to feel less stress. 8 hours is too long. plus if your going home.. if you should leave your fish at the dorm with a heater on and a Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Vacation Fish Feeder Pharmaceuticals 7-Day Pyramid Fish Feeder or have someone take care of the fish.
 
no!the fish will be stressed of an eight hour journey.but if you deffinitely want a fish companion,you can buy a betta!they would be alright with the journeys.ask your local fish store to pack him in a larger cover and ask them afew more covers for you.the bettas would need a min of 3 gallon tank and must have an airpump and a heater.when you return home use the cover which you had got from ur lfs and pack them carefully.its better to learn how to pack them from ur lfs and its easy too! : )all the best!
