fish is laying in the bottom of bowl sideways?

i have a blue betta fish. it is in a fish bowl. all of a sudden. he doesnt eat anymore. he then started to swim sideways. i have checked websites and they say he might be constipated or sick due to being overfed.

i want to know some cures? what can i do to prevent his death? some say to add saltwater salt or a pea. does that work? and what are some other cures?
