I live by Lake Lawrence and the river is down the street off of Vail rd. I'm wondering what kind of fish are in this small part of the river and what anyone is using to catch them???
I live by Lake Lawrence and the river is down the street off of Vail rd. I'm wondering what kind of fish are in this small part of the river and what anyone is using to catch them???
There are cutthroat trout throughout the river, a few salmon in the fall and a steelhead or two. Mostly it is a trout stream. The rules were recently changed, the entire river is single barbless hooks, catch and release. No bait, no killing fish. Call the fly shop at cabela's, some of the folks there know the river. Also, a little spinning rod would work very well.
