fish heater question?

ok..well i had an aquaclear heater (worked great)....that just burned up (cuzz i was changing the water..and let if on without it submersed in water) and it broke...my question is ..i always thought it was a 250 W...but its a 300 W....its a 55 gallon....what Watt do i NEED to get for this tank.....i dont think it matters but im gunna get a marineland..thanks in advance...God Bless....

ok but wat Watt should i get?
 
I hate when that happens that's why i went with the marineland submersible heater its great i haven't had to replace it for the past 6 years.
