Fish for a ten gallon tank?

I was thinking putting my male Betta (Right now he's in a small 1.5 gallon tank) into my new ten gallon to help cycle it. but then i was thinking about adding 7 neon tetras and about 2 guppies with the betta in a few weeks. would that work?
 
simply put no , if you got a 30 gallon tank some people would argue yes but i say noe the betta is a fighting fish and will fight and the 10 gallon for sure with out don't he will eat all your Other guys for sure if you want get bigger fish like a full size molly or like a gournimi that's cool some thing along that size i hoped that helped!
