First Photography lesson?

I have my first one on one lesson and i'm a little nervous.
I have two camera's a Nikon Coolpix s8100 and a Nikon d7000.
Would it be better for me to start off with the Digital Camera or the Slr?
Im only 14 so yea. Im not really sure, also im a beginner.
 
I also like the photography and wanna know about much better one theory about picture capturing...
Will there any help about digital camera's and some more one ....
