So I am 6'0 tall, weighing in at about 210, and am 18. As for experience I have ridden ATV's at the Pismo Beach Dunes in California for about 4 years now, but that is only once a year, so I don't consider that as much experience. As for what I will be doing with the bike, I have a some small acreage in Brookesville, Florida. It is all back country roads and dirt roads. I feel like I will more or less be using it for trails and small jumps and just running around the town. I have spoken with two people, one saying I could learn how to handle a 450, and one saying it is just to much of a beast and go with the 250. Please give me your opinion. Even exact brand names and exact bike selections are helpful. Thank you.

The actual size of the bikes is not any different but the power obviously is. I know you are a big guy but even so with the little experience you have had you would do better on a 250cc. Have you considered the crf250x for the type of riding you intend. The bike is still a powerful bike while being suited for trails and having some of the nicer things that the mx race version has like the better suspension suitable for jumping. Personally I think you would do better with something like that and then once you have a good grounding on the bike you could decide whether you want to move to something with more power. But in saying that the power delivery is very even on either which makes riding whichever you decide a lot easier.

First off, you're talking about Oceano right? That place rocks!

Secondly, go with the 250 it's got enough for what you need to do and it's a great starter bike. If you plan on riding dunes a lot with it, I'd suggest getting paddles also trust me you'll want them, it makes dune riding a lot easier.
