Hey everyone, looking at buying my first car in the near future and need some help. I'm 16 years old looking to buy a cheap car that will last a while and I know Honda's are notoriously long lasting so I'm shooting for those. Mostly looking at Civics and Accords in the mid-late 90s w/~150k miles avg. My budget is $2500-$5000.

A mini-question: "Do both Accords and Civics (EX 1995-2000) have V-TEC?".

I've also seen that Accords have more horsepower and are a little bit less "asian gansta" if you will... That makes me lean towards an Accord because I'm white ^^. That and I think that they are better for insurance (not sure about that). Anyways, Accord or Civic or another car if I find something else I like, I'm shooting for a 4-dr just because of preference. I've found that Civics usually have lower prices than Accords, but thats not always the case. If your going to suggest a substitute first car I have to let you know I strongly oppose American car engineering. Thats why I'm leaning towards the Honda's in the first place (because I prefer Honda over Toyota).

Again, my budget is pretty low so basically if I can find a deal for something under $5000 I will be happy. I'm paying for this myself and my parents are helping me with insurance.

Also, another quick note (I should really wrap this up its getting kinda long) I'm looking for a 5-speed (another turn off for some of the American substitutes) which is why I gave the EX's as example. I cannot drive a 5-speed yet which is kinda funny but I really want to learn and what better way than to buy a car with it ^^.
