First car- 1996 Ford Explorer?

Alright, im 16 and been driving for over a year. I have a 1998 dodge ram 2500 truck that i HATE!!! It is for sale but no one will buy it cuz its older, has about 200k miles, is diesel, etc. I have a friend with a 1996 ford explorer. It has 217k miles and is in overall good condition. He is willing to trade, no exchange of money. I would only have the explorer for about 2 more years, as I would be buying a new car before college. Should I trade with him?
He has never had any problems with it. Never been wrecked. Has all the paperwork with all repairs.
 
i would not buy a ford with 200k miles. i WOULD NOT buy a ford EXPLORER with 200k miles. bad buy. what may look good on the outside, may look horrible on the inside of the engine.
 
Trading a Dodge Ram for a Ford Explorer isn't a good idea as you'd have more problems with the Ford then you have with the Dodge.
