first camping trip???

This weekend we are going on our first family camping trip. It's going to be 2 days. My daughter and son have never slept outside or even been on the inside of a tent. The other night we set the tent up in the back yard to "test" this idea of camping with them (daughter is 2 son is 3) and my son liked it, but when it was time to go to sleep or we had to close the door my daughter FLIPPED out! We aren't going to be somewhere that we can come in the house like we did the other night...what can we do to make this a good trip??

Keep the kids active during the day so they will fall asleep as soon as they are in their sleeping bags. Leave the sleeping bags partially unzipped until they are asleep so they don't feel claustrophobic. Let both children zip and unzip the tent door so they don't feel trapped and expect some minor nightmares.

Bring an electric lantern into the tent and keep it on so she's not afraid of the dark. Also, think about playing music at the sight so the sounds in the woods don't scare her. Make sure to play fun games before bed so she's in a good mood. And run around a lot during the day so she falls asleep fast.

just make sure that you not sitting around the fire all night go on hikes go fishing do there all lots of things that you can do to tire her out.. hope that helps
