I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor on a 91 cougar with the ford 3.8L. I replaced the wires one at a time so not to get the firing order messed up. When I started it it ran, but had a consistent miss. I looked up how the wires should be routed online and from every diagram I have seen, the way they were on the car was wrong. So I put all of the wires back to where they should all be (which only 3 were out of place according to the diagram) and now it will not run at all and backfires lightly through the intake. Has anybody ever seen this before.
Again EVERY wire is in the correct position according to the diagram.
