Finger pain

This seems almost silly to post here, because I'm sure (hope) it'll just go away on its own, just like it came. However, I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask if anyone else has this or knows what this could be.

First of all, I'm very double jointed. I don't know if that would affect anything, but I am. Okay, so my left pointer finger at the top knuckle especially, hurts like CRAZY when I bend it back or put too much pressure on it. It just came on suddenly this evening. It's a very sharp, take your breath away kind of pain that lasts just a few seconds. It also hurts (but not quite as badly) to straighten out the finger (stretch it -- which with my double jointedness, may be more of a strength than normal, I don't know). Bending the finger in doesn't hurt too much, though (just a tad), but it's definitely the going back out part that's the worse, and then, again, especially the bending the tip of the finger back. I don't think I was doing anything like in one position with my hand for a long time or anything that would have caused anything (I do type for my job, and I also play the harp and piano, but haven't played at all today yet)

Just looking for help. Thanks :)
