Finding Anime Names & General Anime Q&A

Probably about 10 years ago, if not more, I watched this one anime movie (or at least I think it was a movie) that was pretty badass, but I cannot remember the name of it.

The few things I remember about it is that there was a train that carried the souls of people who decided to become synthetic, and their real bodies where trapped in ice.

Oh yeah? I've been pretty curious about it for a while. Friend of mine recommended I ask here. Hopefully I'll find out!

As for details, not much. I believe the two main characters where male/female. The boy was human, and the girl was synthetic. Also, throughout most of it, the scenery was pretty dreary.
