Finding Anime Names & General Anime Q&A

I seen this one anime a few years back, I thought it was a movie when I rented it but it turned out to be a series. I don't remember what it's called but I can give a vague description of the episode I seen and the general information about what this anime is about from what I saw.

There is a dimension over lapping the real world. Certain people have the ability to travel through this dimension. I'll call it a spirit dimension. There are spirits that take over machines and possibly other things (only seen the one episode after all). In the episode I seen, there was this spirit that actually constructed this massive beast of a machine and traveled through a tunnel (for cars) killing anyone in the way and devouring their essence. In the show there are also things called kappa (water imp) that live in the spirit dimension but do occasionally come to the real world. There was also a guy in a hospital which the bad guys were looking for because of his special powers. What ever he is exactly there can only be one of his type at a time and I think they were reviving him or he was passing his power onto someone else.

Ya that's about it, not a lot to work on but if you know what it is tell me. It seemed like a kick ass anime from what I saw and I would like to watch the other episodes.
