I'm also looking for a particular anime... I only saw a little bit of it (Viva TV(, but it looked ubercool...
1. It was in a destroyed city
2. Normal people are hiding from these guys wth mechanic bodies
3. If I remember correctly... they removed the normal bodies and packed teh organs all into some kind of bag which resmbles a bee hive, the head sticking out of it. The limbs are then attached to it so tehy actually resembel Star Wars 1 androids with humanoid heads.
4. There's a scene I remember somekid of abandoned opera house or something and the main characters confront the boss, who is alone and still posesses a normal body.
