Finding Anime Names & General Anime Q&A

Silly me started a thread without seeing this myself, therefore i'll just ask the question here. There are 2 animes I am looking for the names to. I believe I saw both of them on the Sci-Fi channel like 5 or 6 years ago, back when they showed anime on saturdays.

The first one involved some mythical kingdom and a war and there was knights and evil wizards. All I can remember about this is the very anti-climatic ending. The good wizard and the evil wizard and about to duel and the good wizard pulls out a pistol and shoots the evil wizard in the face, winning immediately.

The other one involved a kingdom with this princess that was apparently evil and the king wanted to find out about his daugter, so he hired men to watch her. Each time, the men would drink this wine and then fall asleep, but the main character decides to toss the wine away instead of drinking it. That's all I can remember.
 
Well the south park looking one is FLCL episode 5 at 5 min 19 sec (I like FLCL ).

In AMV Hell 3 there is a clip of some girls throwing stars at the earth and blowing it up while playing end of the world song. What anime is this or is to 2 animes put together? It starts at 23 min 17 seconds.
