Another question for you smart guys

Do you know those supposed 'Limited Edition' sets, are they actually limited editioned?
i know that some of them are numbered and possibly signed to prove it is authentic. e.g. SMJ Ultimate collection and Escaflowne box set.

But what about stuff like Comic Party box, Noir box etc.

Note: im really quite sure its a marketing scam, but im still happy with the box...

i got this out of a text file of my hard drive i don't have the actual source but i believe this is the correct answer

1917:
Oten Shimokawa creates the first Japanese animated film, Mukuzo Imokawa the Doorman, by drawing in ink straight onto film.
Over the course of six months, Shimokawa made other features - all running for five minutes.

That's dependant on the publishers...sometimes it's a marketing ploy, sometimes it's factual. I will admit though that I have seen more factual than the ploy in terms to anime LE's.

Most tend to be only produced as a few hundred-thousand units in that publisher's region, but that doesn't mean they aren't mass-produced elsewhere. This creates the feeling that LE's really aren't that limited

Limited Edition means they only make a certain number of them. Usually something like 50,000. Depending on how they sell, they can eaither last a few weeks, or several months.

Examples:

Akira Special Tin Box set: Almost impossible to find now. If you're lucky, you'll see it used or on ebay.

.hack//sign box set w/ vol.1 : Sold out in four months. Almost impossible to find now. Again, goto ebay.

But things like the Love Hina Box Set w/vol 1 you will STILL see on the shelves at most stores! Why? Because THAT limited box set didn't sell well. Alot of them got stuck on the shelves.

hmm.. somewhat interesting,

my brother has always said buying limited edition makes its value worth even more in the future, but if these limited editions are made in large bulks, its value doesn't really matter at the end.

Well, when i bought the SMJ ultimate collection, only 5000 were made (and signed by the creator), so that must count for something right?

I saw this anime once and I dont know the name of it. These kids were in school. It was like getting close to the end of the year and they were making floats. But time never seemed to move. People were moving and doing things but time stopped like in Groundhog Day. Anyway people start to dissapear and time never moves. Eventualy every one vanishes accept this one group of friends. Then this one group of friends end up living at one of thems house with his parents. No one else is there but every time they goto the store its full of food. In the end this one girl discovers that one of the other girls is like an alien or something and she had something to do with the weird goings on. She liked being with her friends so much that she wanted to be with them forever. But then there is something about a little elf or the master of dreams. And the alien girl wanted him to do it. And something about a Japanese story about the world being carried on the back of a turtle. The girl who figured it all out fight the elf and thinks she wins but they pull back to show that there little world is rideing on the back of a turtle. I only saw it once and would like to know what it is if anybody knows. Oh and is there a movie or series that came before "8 Man After." Thank you in advance. These two questions have botherd me for the longest time. Thanks again.

Does anyone know what series this picture is from?

http://www.geocities.com/legatoforever/index.html?1090198280625

a name to the character and series would be great, if anyone can help.

It seems a lot the plot of "Lum: Beautiful Dreamer", the second OAV in the Uruseiyatsura series, but I haven't seen it in a long time.
