They can read the code to give you the exact color name. And as moe fugger said, the info could also be on a sticker in your car, probably inside the door area or sometimes under the hood. Unfortunately stickers sometimes get damaged, and VIN tags are sometimes damaged, too, but one or the other should be intact.
