I am a 20 year old college student interested in getting a dog. I will be moving into a single apartment and since I have never lived alone before I want some type of companionship. I am interested in the financial responsibility of a dog. I am considering putting aside a certain amount of money from my paycheck every pay period and, once I have saved up enough money, getting a dog. The money will be saved for vet expenses and things of that nature, not the actual dog whom I'm sure I will get from a shelter. I am interested in how much money I should have saved before getting a dog.
