So here is the deal.
I have about 30,00 in student debt and by the time I am done with my MA next year will have about 40,000. I dont have to make any payments now, but interest is accumulating while I am in school. For my birthday my mom has offered an overnight stay in a hotel, a fancy dinner and a shopping spree. This will all cost her about $400.
I've asked her to instead just give me 400 bucks to help pay off my interest. She says I am being selfish, but really I just see my loans as a priority over the other things. The debt is really a burden and the relief the money would give me would be great!
What do you think? Is she right? am I right?
