I have been separated from my husband for 5yrs now and have a child who will be 16 in July. Over the last two years I have had to give up work to care full time for a relative, as such I am now on benefits, ie Income Support and Carers Allowance. I was thinking it was time I thought about getting a divorce as my ex now has a new partner and does not seem to be in any hurry for things to proceed. I just want to put an end to the matter. However I was wondering if I would be able to get any financial help towards the cost of the divorce proceedings.
