I have a debt of 30k of a school loan. My school had did multiple loans. Which 2 of the 4 I have been paying on already as it is. Another loan asked me today for the money or that they will send me to collections. I have no intention of setting this to the side and not paying on it, the thing is that I cannot afford all of the 4 loans at once. Assuming with the other loans, I am already dishing out almost $400 a month for those two loans.
To make things even more bad than they already are, I haven't even found a job yet for the profession that I went to school for. I been applying, and sending resumes, but with no luck. I have a job now, but working for little money indeed is not going to be able to pay the 4 loans off at once, and make the bills at the same time. At the same time, I am just barely returning back to work after catching double pnemonia, and haven't to be absent from work with 3 1/2 weeks no pay, which was the biggest set back ever.
I talked to the company of the loan, and my assumption is of what the financial aide at my school told me is that as long as I am paying on one, that the other once cannot collect until the other one is paid off. I told this to the lender, and they said that is not correct. I have to pay on it. I explained I am already paying on two as it is, I cannot afford to take on another loan. They offered no help whatsoever.
I need to know, what is it that I can do to make this work out for me? I am thinking to get a personal loan, to pay off the whole debt of all the loans, and just have one lump sum to pay off with the personal loan. Probably as well, the interest might even be lower since my loans are at a 16% if not more. Please help me, I was advised wrong, and I am in a hole of trouble and debt right now.
