Okay, you might have to do some reading if you want the best answer so here's my story. I am one of the smarter students in my class, not to brag. I have always been told my teachers, parents, etc. that I have outstanding potential. For years I have been planning to go to a school with all my friends, the tuition each year is around 7,000. It's affordable for my family. However, there is a school that offers a better academic plan and would help me to excel in school. The tuition for this school is around 19,000. NOT affordable for my family. My parents are divorced. My mother would rather see me go to the "better" school and we will apply for financial aid. My dad wants me to go to the school I've been planning because it is a Catholic school and less expensive. My mother makes roughly 45,000 a year and my father will more likely than not decide against contributing any money if I go to the "better" school. What are my chances of receiving financial aid? It has nothing to do with athletics/academics, it is purely based on income. Does it matter that my brother is enrolled in high school also? Tuition is 8,000 for him and I have two other siblings but my dad pays for their education. Please help. I want to go here so much and I'm so distraught I could cry!
