Okay, I have a bit of an issue that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I took classes at a university for 4 and a half years in Michigan before moving to Florida to go to USF. I was supposed to get financial aid and I had submitted all of the information they needed (or so I thought) until a month after classes ended, it turned out that one of the pieces of info I had given them was for the wrong year, but they didn't tell me this until it was according to them "too late" to go back and apply financial aid for the one class I took.
To date I still owe them around $1700 and I cannot get transcripts for the one class, which means I can't go to a new school because of the hold on this transcript. I'm out of work currently to make matters worse, and collecting unemployment because I've been unable to find a job. This also means that I don't believe I can get a loan either to pay for the mess up with USF.
I know that's a lot of information, but does anyone have any suggestions? I'm at the end of my rope here and I'm not sure what to do. USF hasn't been at all helpful in trying to resolve this and I've basically been told "oh well" by them. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks.
Oh and please don't just say "get a job" because obviously the issue is that I'm having trouble finding a job.
Finally, so there is no confusion.. it's not a "loan" from USF since they screwed up my financial aid. If I had a loan, then I wouldn't have an issue, but since I owe the money directly to the university.. that's the major issue.
