College Financial Aid as a whole starts with a fasfa, which is submitted to the college you want to attend. The fasfa will determine if you are independent or dependent and where you live has a lot less to do with it than how much money you make or your parents make. Even if you do not qualify for grants, you can qualify for loans, and those loan amounts will also play into it. If your parents make a a good living and have good credit and you want to go to a modestly priced school, chances are you are going to end up paying for it out of pocket or with loans.
