I was awarded a total of $2000 from Financial Aid, plus my school made me apply for a loan and on top of that the school gave me an $500 dollar scholarship for signing on. The loan gave me $2007, in addition to that I gotten addition grant/loan for a total of $1167. A total of $5674, just for the summer. I
My question is since my summer class was only $2540, and I paid out of the pocket for my books. I was told I will be receiving a little over $1900 back in refund. My calulation added I should recieve a total of $3074 refund. But when I got the check it was only for the total of $583. I do not want the loans if I don't need it, and if they gave it to me and I have to pay it back I would like to know where is it. No one at the school will write me back and tell me whats going on.
I called my FA adviser, my consular and also FA office no one has been available, to tell me why. Do I cash the check and would they hold that against me as paid in full? Or do I demand an explanation of where did the rest of my money went and not cash the check? Is there someone else I can talk to, maybe out side of the school?
I have been emailing them for over a week, when I call, the recording said they would get back with me within 24 hours, I call leave messages to different people in the office some will not be back til the second week of August.It is starting to feel like the school do not really exists.
Also I would like to know can I transfer from an online university to a local college so I wouldn't have to go through this anymore.
