My girlfriend has been telling me the past few months that she is not eligible for financial aid because her parents make too much money, yet her parents are not helping her pay for school in the least. They won't even send her money to help out with food or bills.
She tells me that because her parents filed her on their taxes, she can not get any help from the government.
She is not dependent of her parents. I thought that's all it took other than your parents being unable to pay for your schooling.
She's looking in to scholarships, but she is not a freshman and because of this she wasn't even in the running for scholarships. She says that's how it is with voice majors.
I think this is bullshit and she just overlooked something.
Is there any way she could get financial aid?
Any kind of advice would help.
