So I have dated my fiance for a number of years and we have been planning on getting married once I get out of law school and once he got his masters degree. Well, we still have about a year and a half or so before I get out of law school and he has not began his masters program yet mainly because of money. International student tuition is ridiculous and his parents are running out of money. I read on the fafsa site that you can receive financial aid if you are a permanent resident. Does anyone know how this works? I guess my main question is, if we were to get married now, when would he be eligible to receive financial aid?
