Hi, After a long saga of acquiring financial aid from my college, I've found that even with the money I've saved up from the summer, and thirty hours a week of work while in school. I will not have enough money to cover my expenses. Is there anyway I can get my Stafford loan increased? Are there any other options I could consider. Also my father has terrible credit so a private loan isn't really an option.
I go to Syracuse University, the cost of attendance is over 51k a year. About 33k of that is tuition. I have a 30 thousand dollar scholarship that I get every year, but my father is completely broke, my mother is out of the picture, and I can only make so much money working low wage summer jobs, and minimum wage work study jobs. They gave me a total of 10,000 in aid for the whole year, but 6 thousand will have to go towards rent, and 3,500 will have to go to pay the tuition not covered by my scholarship. I still have to pay for books, food, and my share of the utilities for a Syracuse winter, and 500 wont cover that. I can probably earn about two thousand a semester by working steadily, but I need a little money in advanced.
