Ok, this is the most complicated situation ever. Pay close attention. I have a daughter who's one. My parent's claim me as a dependent so I can have insurance (even though I haven't been to the doctor this whole year, because "they can't afford it" ..so basically they just claim me to get the money back on their taxes) I do not live with them. I have my own apartment. So on my FAFSA it asks if you have a dependent..if you say "yes" it automatically classifies you an independent. I have applied for Financial Aid at UTA. Are they going to want my parent's taxes when they find out that they claim me as a dependent??! Cause then I won't get hardly any aid. And I need it bad.
