Just recentley recieved my GED after a month or so of studying. I dropped out of high school my senior year and picked up a job at Cedar Point. After Cedar Point was over (It was a HIGH houred seasonal job that had basically free housing) I re-attempted high school in January 2009. I finished the school year but only passing three classes because abscences affected my grade. (Back to the point) High school wasn't my thing and now I feel like even though I have my GED im crippled and won't be able to pick up schooling anymore. I don't make enough money at my job to finance a school payment along with other necessitiess. My family recently filed for bankruptcy and they financially can't help either. I have tried looking through and weeding through scholarships but Im not qualified for %90 of them. My birth father is Vietnam Veteran and I thought It may help but I can't find anything I am eligible for. I know that I would like to enroll in Universal Technical Institute of Texas for Automotive Collision and Refinishing. Can someone please help in anyway? Im exhausted at weeding through dead end information on the internet and finding a possible resource that leaves more questions than answers. Im honestly afraid.
I understand Fafsa and Student Financial Aid are options but when do they need to be filed? (After im enrolled, whenever etc...). I am also afraid of beginning the enrollment process without a efficient source of income. Knowing how much I have going in. Also if I apply for Fafsa and FSA does it have a deadline to be consumed. So many questions yet it so hard to find answers anymore without weeding through technicalitys, eligibility, lack of information...
