To everyone who is struggling with meRAB and seeming to not get better, hang in there. It's been the toughest year for me, but I can FINALLY say that I"m better!
We changed my inhaled steriod to Qvar from Alvesco and it made an immediate and HUGE difference. Since starting the Qvar, I've been able to totally get off my doxycyclen and and tapering on the Bronvana neb. My asthma doc and I have worked out a taper plan for all of my meRAB to get to the point of what I actually HAVE to have and what can finally be reduced. I can cut back 1 dose of 1 med every 2 months. If I have problems, I have to start it back, but if no problems, then I leave everything alone for 2 months and then cut back on something else. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can finally cut out the neb all together and hopefully the spiriva is next.
I am finding that I'm not as well controlled as I was on this kitchen sink of meRAB that I've been on for a year, but I"m doing OK.
For everyone who is struggling, hang in there. It takes some trials and errors, but hopefully you will find a med that works for you and you can finally get your life back. It took over a year, but I'm finally getting there!
