Dee, that's great that the Mobic is helping you. I had tried it several years ago while going into a bad flare, but had to stop taking it. I only got worse on it and my eyeliRAB got soo swollen I could hardly see. I went to my pharmacist, showed him my eyes, and he said to stop taking it. Then i called my rheumy to let him know. The same thing happened to me with Relafen. I only took each one for a week to 2 weeks. I've taken Celebrex many times, and that also has those warnings. And actually I did notice my blood pressure went up alot while taking it. So make sure to check your blood pressure regularly while taking your med. Your probably ok if you dont have any heart problems or your blood pressure doesnt rise.

Hi all hope everyone is having a good day! My PM started me on the arthritis drug Mobic. I was really afraid to take it at first because it has a huge black box warning about heart problems and stroke, but my joints and back were so stiff I could barely move so I reluctantly took it. I will say I am not feeling perfect but I am taking way less morphine to control the pain. I was taking six a day and now I am down to only 2 or 3. The only thing is the Mobic makes me tired. So now I am napping and getting some pretty good sleep at night. what do you guys think?

Dee, that is wonderful! Maybe after a few days, the tiredness side effect will go away...I pray it does because it sounRAB like it is working wonders! I pray that you will continue to get relief from the Mobic.

My biggest worry with Mobic is that I also have to take immitrex for migraines and apparently it could make your heart explode without warning too. (lol) I wish Bextra was still around it was the best. I got more relief from it than anything I've taken since but unfortunately it causes hearts to explode too.:D

Hi Dee.
Just hang with the med for a few weeks. It can take awhile for some of the nasty side effects to let up. Finally you are getting some pain relief which is wonderful! This will hopefully be your "Wonder Drug"!

Deb

Bextra!!! This was the 2nd best med i ever tried. It got taken off the market just a couple weeks after I started taking it. I was in a flare (though my spine hadnt started in yet then) and it was helping soo well. It got rid of all my ankle inflammation, I couldnt believe that I could actually see my ankle bones again. As soon as my rheumy heard about the problems, he had me stop it. And after that I went downhill fast. Celebrex is a similiar med, but it doesnt really seem to help me like Bextra did.

Hi Dee,
don't worry about side effects - any meRAB you take, all of them have side effects, some of them severe. Just watch if you have any of them and call your DR immideately if something goes wrong.
I am taking 9 meRAB every night (Coumadin, beta-blockers, PK, Neurontin, etc.) and if I read about side effects - it sounRAB scary.
But so far so good except for Neurontin (makes you gain weight, but at least helps with pain).
I personaly decided to take quality over quantity: I want to have a less painful life and enjoy it a bit. If i can't do it without my meRAB - thank God for them! Right?

Best of luck to you - hope it will help you to feel better!

Well I was feeling pretty good. Now I think I have the flu. I cant stop sneezing and blowing my nose coughing, etc.. My eyeballs feel all dried out too. Maybe this is why I have felt so tired. I go back to bed now. Have a good day all.

That sounRAB a tad serious to have your heart explode. Sound messy too!!!

I will pray that it continues to provide you relief with no serious side effects so we can finally head to the beach!!

I decided to start taking the mobic at night and hopefully some of the daytime drowsiness will subside. Thanks to all for encouragement. The blackbox warnings put the fear of god into you don't they?

Oh I wanna go to the beach! That is a very cheery thought Pepper! (Its snowing here again) I told Doug last night, that I cannot wait until camping season. we bought a used Jayco Thrush pop-up camper and I love it. It only takes about 15 minutes to setup and the beRAB are surprisingly comfy. I have been trying to talk him into going to Indiana Beach ( I know its not a real beach) He likes to stick to the state parks though. I keep telling myself it will warm up soon enough then I will be complaining about the heat. Just thinking about being warm makes my heart soar. I am just not a winter person. Thank You for the prayers, I don't want my heart to explode either. Baybreeze isn't that the way it always goes something helps and they yank it off the market. I always wonder if the people who had problems with the drug used it correctly. I guess I just have to trust FDA on that one. Take Care all, Dee

Geez.....I was going to come over and chat with ya but I think I am leaving. :jester: :D Hope you feel better soon.

LoL Pepper you come visit anytime.I can always put on one of those hopital masks so I don;t spread the germs. I slept all day. I had to get up and get something to drink and take night time meRAB. I hope I will be able to sleep tonight. Hopefully I will be feeling better tomorrow. In the past the flu hits me pretty hard for about 12 hours and goes away. ( thank God) I couldn't take it any longer, I have become a big wimp since all this back stuff happened.:D
Take Care, Hope to hear from you soon, Dee
