hi, i saw an article about using the nokia wireless bluetooth keyboard app to connect to various bluetooth keyboards and the apple wireless keyboard so i was trying to get it to work.

the trouble was i couldn't find the passcode for pairing, until tonight when i repaired the keyboard with my ibook to see the passcode.

after entering that passcode, the n80 and the keyboard paired and the keyboard works.

maybe this is no biggie to everyone, but to me it is pretty cool!

Wirelessly posted ( DH N93 Black w/SU-8W Keyboard: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

nice..apple and nokia is a bad combo thou imo lol

Is it a generic code that would work for us as well or do we have to do some fishing. It would be nice to have a full size keyboard for home and the Nokia bt for the road.

got my apple keyboard working with my e61

steps:

1. install wireless keyboard app - http://europe.nokia.com/A4144291
2. power up keyboard - light will flash
3. open app and search for keyboard
4. select keyboard
5. mine sat here and was waiting, i hit 1111, then phone said enter passcode
6. enter 1111
7. phone says enter 1111 on keyboard and hit enter so do that.
8. phone says connected and you are good to go

using keyboard:

left apple key is left soft key
right apple key is right soft key
shift left apple is green
shift right apple is red

haven't figured out menu key yet

now all we need is to connect a bt mouse!! hmm i wonder if nokia could release a portable bt keyboard with a touch pad like on laptops...

I have one of those virtual keyboards that projects a laser image. It pairs just fine with my N80 but afterwards it fails to connect. It ought to work since the nolia software and the 'keyboard' both support the HID bluetooth profile. Any suggestions?

Are you sure your "virtual keyboard" supports the HID profile? Most that I have seen just support the SPP profile.

I do some consulting for a cool keyboard manufacturer (www.frogpad.com) and I use their keyboards with my E62. I also have a Thinkoutside BT keyboard as well that works with the Nokia driver.

Kudos to Nokia for making their HID driver "open" and not locked to their product.
