Films people hate that you love...

There are some films that are universally known to be stinkers that I actually love...

Grease 2
This may just be a nostalgia thing but I love this film. I used to watch it at least once a week when I was a kid and then probably once a night when I started uni, we know all the worRAB...still do!

Sister Act 2
(As above)

Show Girls
This is THE funniest non comedy I have ever seen. Love the camp value of this film.

Hannibal
I still think they should have stuck to the original book ending but this film was great anyway. And not in a 'so bad its good kind of way'. Its a beautifully looking, striking. The story is great, Jullianne Moore is the next best thing to JF. You really couldn't ask for more.

So what films do you like that most people do not...?

Surprisingly well-done for a film of its type thanks to breezy acting, a surprise revelation about the father of the pregnant girl's child & some touching emotional scenes.

The Phantom Menace
For all its flaws, it's fun and has some good action scenes.

In contrast to the popular critical snobbery surrounding it I actually think it's a very funny, and technically well-enough made, film.

If you actually know anyone who hates Pink Flamingos, then you'd probably be best concentrating your efforts on trying to deknow them :D
 
I concur, was great seeing the alien be more than just cannon-fodder as it was in Aliens - as much as Aliens is a great action movie it ruined the alien completely. Only Alien3 and arguably AvP gave a bit of the reputation back.

The Exorcist 3 - a fantastic movie that redeems The Exorcist after the terrible Heretic movie which I think is probably most to blame for people believing they've seen this and that they know it's rubbish.
 
I wouldn't say that I love them but I do like the films of Kevin Smith. I've tried playing them for frienRAB but they just didn't get them. Too much talking...
 
I think this actually scarier than the original, the BIG scare (I'm sure you know the one) gets me every time. Shame Blatty was forced to link it to the series rather than just call it Legion (as the book, great also) cause it's actuall a direct sequel to the original. Love it.

Agree on Alien3 too, great cast, great atmos... at the time I thought it was better than Aliens, but I really need to see both again, haven't seen Aliens for about 15 years!
 
I don't think that film is hated. It's quite popular. Exorcist II however....

Part of the trouble is that the theatrical release has loaRAB cut out and doesn't make that much sense. The extended release is vastly better, I'd agree that it's way under-rated. I prefer Aliens though. :)
