Film Vault

Not half as gutted as his family

I am not sure what you hope to achieve by discussing this further. So it turned out to be a 'one man band' and things seemed to be perfectly ok until the guy died . I am sure he would rather not be dead and his family, who must be the people answering the questions so far , would rather he be here as well.

So unless someone can come up with a proper reason for keeping the thread open, rather than let this turn into a thread where a dead man gets bitched about for dying, I think it should be closed

Sorry, forgot to re-open it, was on my phone at the time .
But I said I would and therefore I have.

But please, some thoughts for the Gentleman and his family

Hi Irongiant,

Ok well how about putting a FAQ or sticky for people affected as opposed to supposition etc? I do feel for people who have potentially lost money here but I also really feel for the family of the guy.

I fully appreciate the frustration of anyone awaiting discs back. I can state categorically they were not a one man band. I dealt with at least 4 or 5 people there and that was over the phone, not just emails.

I spent well over a grand a week with them and if they were planning any sort of con I think I would have been targeted well before anyone sending private collections.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be frustrated or looking to persue your rights, but alot of scandalous stuff has been posted and I think with hinRABight many people will perhaps rethink there comments.

Thanks for the update chump.

Up until now, we have had no confirmed information, the absence of which leaRAB to speculation. The situation is, of course, a tragedy for the person’s family and frienRAB; no one disputes that.

I hope those people now administering the affairs of Film Vault contact everyone who have sent in DVD collections explaining the situation.

I for one, appreciate this thread being kept open, so that any updated information can be posted to help those awaiting the return of their collections.

Hello, I have been following your thread with interest, and have just joined the forum.
£86 worth of DVD's were picked up on 31 Jan 2012 by this company, I had used them after doing a lot of research and believing the good feedback they had. The DVD's are not mine, I was selling them for a family friend, so I feel personally very bad/stupid about what has happened and am wishing I had used a proper company!
They have my DVD's and like many others, have not bothered to contact me, respond to any emails, or answered the phone/replied to messages left.
I cannot find out if anyone has actually died, or whether the company is one of many, that have failed. Both my mother and my grandfather ran their own businesses and would never have treated their customers as badly as Film Vault is doing. After this length of time, there really is no excuse for what they are doing. They have no consideration, at all, for their customers, and it is obvious they are not 'temporarily closed' as their website suggests, as who would use them now!?
I have now contacted Consumer Direct who informed me that the first course of action is to send a letter, via recorded delivery, to this company. Whether their address is valid and the letter actually gets to them, is an unknown quantity.
They have given me the following information on what to include in the letter, which I thought I would pass on to other people on here.
Address the letter, ‘to whom it may concern' at the Film Vault. State that they are in breach of contract for their failure to make payment as informed e.g. describe what the contract was for and the time frame for when it was supposed to be completed ;which for me was five working days from when the DVD's where collected = 7th Feb.
Mention how much was supposed to be paid to you and what the problems is that you are having with the Film Vault.
Mention they are in breach of their contract for their failure to make payment as informed.
Write what conclusion you are looking for concerning this matter and include a time frame for the response you want from them.
I hope this helps. I shall be doing this myself, but have a horrible feeling I will never see any monies or, my frienRAB collection again.

I did have sympathy for this company, but due to their total lack of consideration for their many customers, my sympathies have turned into utter distain for them. They are a business, and as such, should behave like one, I am not a charity donating gooRAB to increase their assests, which is currently a fact; they have my 'gooRAB', they are hardly goinmg to throw them away, are they?
